Safari Itinerary

Depart Moshi / Arusha for a Lake Manyara National Park game drive. This lush ‘little park’ situated on the footsteps of the Great Rift Valley provides a home to a wide range of different animals including elephants, buffalos, giraffes, hippos as well as more than 400 species of birds. It is most famous for its tree-climbing lions, resting on Acacia branches six to seven meters above the ground.

Overnight accommodation available: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

After breakfast head off to the world famous Serengeti National Park, with an optional stop at ‘the cradle of mankind’, as Olduvai Gorge is commonly referred as. From here enter the celebrated Serengeti, which is the size equivalent to Ireland, and home to four million different animals as well as the nature’s finest spectacle, the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

As one section of the herds of Wildebeest, Zebras and antelopes drift towards western Serengeti, seeking for the permanent waters of the Grumeti River, the others will continue further north towards Lake Victoria. All the migration routes are closely pursued by predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and vultures, waiting patiently for the right moment to strike and enjoy a fresh meal.

Overnight: Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

From the West, you will transfer to the North of the Serengeti National Park, where the other herds of Wildebeest, Zebras and antelopes ‘race for life’ is underway. Watch on from key vantage points as the swarms of frantic animals search for clear waters to cross from the northern rivers including the Mara River that flows into Kenya.

Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp in Northern Serengeti

Enjoy another day in the Northern part of Serengeti National Park observing the Great Migration. Watch in awe as animals risk it all to cross raging rivers with strong currents whilst trying to avoid hungry Nile Crocodiles lying in wait. All to reach the green pastures of the Maasai Mara.

Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp in Northern Serengeti

When grazing in Mara is exhausted, the migrators turn back to central Serengeti to breed, but the danger isn’t yet over as hungry predators will follow.

Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp in Central Serengeti

Enjoy a sunrise game drive in the southern, endless plains of the Serengeti. After lunch there will be the option of stopping by a colourful Maasai tribal home. These pastoral nomads have vigorously resisted change and still follow the same lifestyle they have lived for centuries! Offering a true insight into tribal life that stretches back through time.

Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

After breakfast descend into the Ngorongoro Crater to witness it’s beauty and abundance of wildlife. Here you will have huge opportunities to spot the Big Five wildlife in their natural surroundings. Enjoy a Picnic lunch. In the afternoon return to Moshi / Arusha town.
